Chiropractic 101

Bones move in the body, naturally.  But, sometimes when people move, they hear a crack or a pop, which is the sound of joints releasing carbon dioxide bubbles.  Sometimes people will even twist this way and that, trying to encourage these noises.  While cracks and pops may create a temporary feeling of relief, they may also be followed by an “uh-oh” awareness that the area of the body now feels even more tight than before and not quite right.

We all know that joints can become “stuck.”  And we know that we should go for a check-up, when a joint is obviously "stuck."  But cracks or pops are another sign that you need a check-up, because they mean that a joint is moving too much or too easily.  And the sounds are frequently heard when there are problems somewhere in the spine.

The bottom line is, everybody can benefit from chiropractic care, because chiropractors are trained to know the difference between healthy joint movement and unhealthy joint movement.
